2026/2027

Generations Rising is an Indigenous Scholarship & Mentorship Program designed to help students pursue their educational goals while building leadership skills, professional connections, and long-term opportunities.

The program supports students from communities where Agnico Eagle operates and welcomes applicants from a wide range of fields of study — including health, trades, business, engineering, environment, communications, education, and more.

Supporting the Next Generation of Indigenous Leaders

The Generations Rising Program empowers Indigenous students by helping remove financial barriers to education while providing meaningful mentorship and professional development opportunities.

More than a scholarship, this program is built to help students grow academically, personally, and professionally while fostering cultural pride, leadership, and community impact.

The program is open to Indigenous students from countries where Agnico Eagle operates and welcomes students pursuing studies in a wide range of fields, not only mining-related careers.

Scholarship Details

The Generations Rising Program provides meaningful financial support to help Indigenous students pursue higher education and future career opportunities. Selected students may receive up to $10,000 CAD per year toward tuition for up to four years, for a maximum total of $40,000 CAD per recipient. If tuition is already covered through other grants, unused funds may be applied toward approved housing costs. In addition to financial support, students will also have access to budgeting training, financial guidance, mentorship opportunities, career coaching, professional development support, wellness resources, and opportunities to connect with Indigenous employees and leaders at Agnico Eagle.

Mentorship & Guidance

Students are matched with mentors in or related to their field of interest at Agnico Eagle and receive ongoing career coaching, interview preparation, and professional guidance throughout the program. Participants may also have opportunities to visit Agnico Eagle sites or regional offices and build meaningful connections with Indigenous employees and leadership teams.

Wellness & Personal Support

Participants have access to wellness resources, mental health training, and sessions with a financial counsellor to help support educational planning and future financial success.

Career Development Opportunities

The program provides exposure to real-world experiences and future career pathways through internship opportunities, site visits, and job shadowing experiences. Students are guaranteed an interview for internship opportunities at Agnico Eagle, with placements tailored to their field of study, including areas beyond mining-related careers.

Global Recognition

Students become part of a growing network of future Indigenous leaders and have opportunities to connect with students and professionals from regions where Agnico Eagle operates around the world.
